An authentic medieval town in the heart of preserved nature - We are open!
In 2020, the Tours de Merle go out !
Two exhibition projects beyond the walls highlight the site at Argentat-sur-Dordogne.
Since the opening and the choice to maintain and revalorize the site's heritage and until the 1st of January 2020, the Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle townhall managed the Tours de Merle. If the municipality remains owner of the racking assembly, the management, planning and maintenance of the site now are under the responsability of the federation of municipalities Xaintrie Val'Dordogne.
A perfect occasion for our towers to settle into their territory of Xaintrie and to offer activities in link with other intercommunal facilities and local players!

Discover this part of history and the most emblematic settlements.
This exhibition originates from an intervention by Angélique Marty, archeologist and mediaevalist, at the Tours de Merle in 2017. Her researches and presentation inspired the project, picked up again in 2019. Sarah Laval, guide intern during the summer, restarted the research and ground work, in order to propose a pre-exhibition file to the team.
These previous works are the starting point and the base of our concise and global presentation. Today, it is part of a partnership between the Maison du Patrimoine, museographic space of the municipality of Argentat, and the Tours de Merle, project promoter into the federation of municipalities Xaintrie Val'Dordogne.
It will take place from the 3rd of June to the 27th of September 2020, at the Maison du Patrimoine of Argentat-sur-Dordogne, in the first place. Indeed, this exhibition is destined to become itinerant too...
